Practical Planning Day
In partnership with The Canal and River Trust (CRT) we have organised a practical, hands-on one-day training on Saturday 11th June at Naburn Locks, Naburn, York, YO19 4RU.
Open to members aged 16 and above, you will learn about the factors involved in the planning stage and delivery of a Countryside Challenge Project so you can confidently lead your own project.
By the end of the day you will:
Know what makes an great Countryside Challenge project
Identify the stages of planning a countryside challenge to cover the skills of the group and health and safety/ risk assessments, working with potential partnership organisations
Understand the importance of planning the project
And undertake a practical exercise: putting into practice what has been learnt.
Plan of the day
9:30 – Arrive, refreshments, plan for the day.
10:00 – Introduction
10:15 – Ice breakers
10:45 – Health and Safety workshop
11:30 – Choosing and planning a challenge
12:00 – Risk assessing the chosen challenge
12:30 Lunch
13:15 – Practical delivery of the challenge
15:45 – Evaluation and future opportunities
